Did you catch my Instagram stories over this last weekend? Charlie and I went to Jekyll Island for a girls weekend. We thought it would be a great place to take the girls for a couple days of “Mommy and Me” time. Jekyll Island is off the coast of Brunswick, GA and right about five hours from our home in the Atlanta area.
A big bonus for me, is that I am actually from St. Simons Island- the island that neighbors Jekyll in Glynn County. I even got a chance to stop by and see some family really quickly on the way in, which was a nice treat.
After that, it was onto the Holiday Inn Resort on Jekyll Island.
We checked in and immediately fell in love with our suite. We had a spacious balcony that overlooked the ocean. The best part? The sun rose every morning directly behind it.
Our suite had two TVs, one in the bedroom and one in the sitting area- which was perfect for two indecisive toddlers. (Disney on one and Nick on the other, ya know?) We had a full refrigerator and freezer, which was perfect to stock with applesauce pouches and juice boxes… and… let’s be honest- rosè. Our sink was perfect for washing sippy cups and sand off of tiny hands.
The hotel also featured a third floor, ocean view coffee shop that also had other light snacks for purchase. The entire staff was wonderful and the atmosphere of the resort was amazing! There is beach access on site, fire pits, a pool, and large lounging cabanas. You can see all of this in my video! There is also a restaurant right next door called The Beach House, where we enjoyed brunch on Sunday morning.
We really enjoyed our weekend exploring the beach, the shops, and the scenic drives. Most of all, it was awesome to have some alone time with my girl! Trips with toddlers are never a walk in the park, but overall it was worth the memories.
