Before I begin here, you should know that I’m one of the obnoxious people that can’t wait to decorate for Christmas as soon as Halloween candy hits the clearance aisle. This year, as sort of a happy medium; I decided to do a “Thanksgiving Tree”. Basically, we put up our regular Christmas tree and light it up. But. We don’t decorate it yet. For the month of November until Thanksgiving, every day, we will all write something we are thankful for on a slip of paper and stick it on the tree. On Thanksgiving we will sit and read them all.
I think it’s a fun way to precede December by staying focused on the spirit of gratitude. It’s also been hilarious to see what Grayson is writing (which I’m sure is a shock to NO ONE).
And the obvious bonus? I get to put up my tree and some lights to satisfy my urge without being the Crazy Christmas Lady!
{Disclaimer: I’m not promising that other Christmas decor isn’t gradually creeping up around the house.}
