What’s your favorite snack of summer? If you didn’t say ice cream, I don’t know if we can be friends. We always have ice cream on deck and my love of ice cream runs deep, y’all. Being the good Southern girl that I am, one of my favorite brands is Mayfield Creamery. Mayfield Creamery was founded in the Southeast and has been loved and trusted since 1923. Their ice cream uses fresh cream from their own dairy in Braselton, Georgia – with no artificial growth hormones. They are proud of their variety of flavors (including limited edition) from family recipes that have been perfected over three generations.
We took Grayson to his very first Braves Game a couple of weeks ago on National Ice Cream Day. (Which was fitting, as it was a million degrees outside!) Mayfield Creamery ice cream is the official ice cream of the Atlanta Braves, and ice cream and frozen novelties are available at six standalone Mayfield Creamery Kiosks and throughout SunTrust Park. Grayson just had to try their huge six-scoop sundae that we all ended up sharing. It even came in a souvenir tomahawk bowl.
The next weekend, Tyler and I visited Brezza Cucina at Ponce City Market for date night. We ate a delicious meal and topped it off with two desserts using Mayfield ice cream, available on the menu: Smoky Mountain Fudge Swirl and Summery Berry Fontana. Mayfield Creamery is partnering with influential chefs and hot spots all over the South to create southern dessert recipes made with Mayfield ice cream, celebrating its roots. Brezza Cucina is led by James Beard Award winner chef and Top Chef contestant, Chef Jonathan Waxman. Everything we enjoyed there was absolutely heavenly and the desserts were to die for.
When I’m not at a baseball game or out for a fancy date night, I like to enjoy a good ‘ole bowl of Mayfield Creamery Signature Vanilla ice cream. But, let’s be honest- I’m a mom who survives on coffee, too. That said, I invented my own little version of an affogato (traditionally gelato and espresso). All I do is take two scoops of vanilla ice cream and pour a few ounces of strong coffee over the top.
It gives me just the kick I need to finish the day. Have you ever thought about pouring coffee over ice cream? You won’t regret it! Have you tried Mayfield? What’s your favorite flavor? You can find it at Publix, Kroger, and Walmart here in the Atlanta area.
