Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (“Toyota”) provided me with compensation and use of a VEHICLE for a short period of time. The opinions I have shared about this vehicle are my own.
Hi friends! I’m writing this from California! That’s right, our move is complete. I have plenty to talk about later on in regards to that adventure, but for now, I want to tell you about my last weekend in Georgia. My family lives a few hours south of where we lived in Atlanta, so I knew I was going to want to drive down there for a final goodbye. We decided to make it a quick family road trip.
Southeast Toyota invited me to test drive a 2017 Camry for the trip! I have to say, my first thought was, “Is this going to have enough space for my crew?!” It didn’t take long to quell those concerns! As it turns out, there is a TON of trunk space and I would venture to say that there is more backseat space than in my SUV!
I was immediately excited when I got in the car for the first time. The Camry was seriously nicer than any luxury car I’ve been in. This car had just about any option you could dream up to make the ride more comfortable. I especially loved all of the anti-collision features. This trip left me dreaming about owning one of these gems!
We took many back roads en route to South Georgia, absorbing the beauty of the pines, pecan orchards, and harvested cotton fields. My grandma lives in a small country town that epitomizes the deep south. Her yard is full of tall pine trees and lush azalea bushes.
Even though the Azaleas were mostly gone already, a few were left. I think they waited just for me to visit. The azaleas have always been so significant to my memories and I’ve even written about them before. My grandmother is aging quickly, and I never know when the last time I see her will be. I watched my kids run and play in her backyard and relished my last few days in the South, in the very same spots where I ran and played at that age.
We could leave our beloved South Georgia with a refreshed sense of our roots and a profound appreciation for the simplicity we knew when we were children. The Toyota Camry we got to drive made our trip much more comfortable, relaxing and pleasurable. We will miss so much about our Georgia, mostly people like Grandma, but it is reassuring that in 2017 we are only a short flight or FaceTime away.
