I’ve had a lot of fun getting Grayson’s new room ready to go, and I wanted to share my favorite details. His last room was vintage superhero themed, which we loved, but he’s not really into superheroes anymore. He’s getting bigger, which makes me die a little inside. I mean… it’s awesome. Anyway, I thought a monochrome theme would be a little more “big boy” and allow us some freedom to accessorize in different ways that still match. It’s nothing elaborate, but here’s his new room.
His new bed frame is from Ikea. It took all of 30 minutes to put together and cost hardly anything. It’s simple and he loves it.
For his mattress, we went with this twin sized jewel, courtesy of Tuft & Needle. He says he slept better than he ever has the first night we had it! I absolutely love how easy it was to get the mattress and put it on the bed. It comes vacuum sealed in a box, and all you have to do is take the plastic off and the mattress comes into form. Unlike the common memory foam choice, this adaptive foam engineered specifically by Tuft & Needle, is designed to pull heat away from the body and disperse it out. It’s incredibly comfortable. The customer service at T&N is another huge draw. They REALLY want to make sure you love your mattress. They have a 100 night trial option, because they are that confident in their product. Head to their site to read all about how they are able to supply such a luxurious but affordable mattress, and you will be totally sold! We got one for our room, too and it was the best decision ever.
Another new favorite, is his machine-washable rug from Lorena Canals. Charlie has had one in her room for awhile, and I am obsessed with it. You can literally throw these rugs in the washer. These eco-friendly rugs are handmade with natural fibers and have won numerous awards. They also have the most adorable matching cushions (also machine-washable). They are so soft, you will want to lay on it and roll around. Maybe not. But they are seriously amazing. I mentioned last time I talked about Lorena Canals that their rugs also help children in Northern India go to school, which is just an added draw to this amazing company.
This personalized pillow was a favorite courtesy of Shop Highway 3. They have a HUGE selection of personalized home goods, and it’s hard to choose just one thing! This is the perfect finish to his simple bedding.
What do you think? Do you like the monochrome trend?
