If I’m Being Honest Podcast | Episode 17: I Was A Homeless Migrant Child (with Heydy)

Welcome! In this podcast, we will be talking about all the subjects that we tip toe around in society. We’re going to chat about the sensitive, the controversial, the censored, and the taboo. I’ve invited guests to talk with me about their most intimate stories, in an effort to demystify these subjects and humanize their experience. Subscribe to the podcast on Apple Podcasts or Spotify and I’d love your 5-Star rating and review. You can find us on Instagram: @ifimbeinghonestpodcast. Also, please tell your friends about us.

Heydy Lopez is a mom of three in Calgary, Canada. She is a successful entrepreneur and content creator, and I met her through the wonderful world of Instagram. She talks about everything from maternal mental health to body positivity to motherhood and produces incredible work. What you might not realize at first glance, is that Heydy’s life started out really rough. As a child her family immigrated from Guatemala to Canada, largely on foot. They spent time with almost no belongings and homeless, sleeping everywhere from shelters to literally under bridges. Later on, Heydy became a teen mom. After all she has experienced, I just really love her story of being a phoenix that rose from the proverbial “ashes” and I wanted you all to hear it as well and be inspired like I was.
