How to Plan a Taylor Swift Birthday Party

I had one of my most epic mom moments this summer when my daughter requested a Taylor Swift party for her 6th birthday. Embody Taylor Swift as a group? Yes please. Shockingly, I found nearly nothing that would do this party justice when I consulted Pinterest for ideas. So, for Swifties of all ages, here is a complete guide of how to plan a Taylor Swift birthday party!

Taylor Swift-Themed Birthday Photoshoot

Right off the bat, I knew I had to include Taylor’s gorgeous album art! I used the actual albums as decor for the party but I wanted to create something truly special to honor Charlie as well. Enter this idea to recreate some of Taylor’s most iconic covers with my daughter! I had the best time planning and putting together the photoshoot. Tiny hot pink fur coat? Yes, please!

We shot everything in our home and backyard, and my brother helped with customizing the Reputation graphics. I loved seeing my idea come to fruition and love how they turned out. I had each of the photos printed as posters at Staples for around $14 each, and then hung them as a display over the birthday cake table.

Taylor Swift Birthday Party Decorations

In addition to the recreated cover art, I printed simple signs and put them in simple acrylic frames all throughout the house, including the gift and guestbook tables, face art, photo booth, and karaoke areas. I kept the decorations simple and sophisticated by sticking to a gold color scheme. This included balloons, a streamer backdrop, gold glitter garland, sequins in different sizes, a glitter crown, and layered scrapbook paper. I purchased this bulk Taylor Swift sticker set which included 100 stickers! I put some in each of the gift favor bags and sprinkled them on all the tables as party decor.

Taylor Swift Birthday Party Activities

What would a Taylor Swift birthday party be without glitter “Lover” face hearts and karaoke? The hearts were created with lash glue (so that it would wash off easily) and craft glitter. The girls enjoyed their party favors during the party, as they each wanted to wear the red heart glasses, and of course, red lipstick! (Don’t worry, I knew all these parents would be okay with it.)

Unique Guest Book Sneakers

One of my favorite things at the party was her “guestbook”. Instead of having the kids sign a birthday party guestbook, I had each of the guests sign a new pair of canvas tennis shoes — a “She wears high heels, I wear sneakers” reference. They turned out so cute and it’s such a fun memorabilia from the day! These are the fabric markers we used.

Strike-A-Pose Party Photo Booth

A photo booth is fun at every birthday party, but for sure this one! We used an Instax camera to capture our best “1989” polaroid pose.

Taylor Swift Birthday Party Favors

As mentioned above, each of these little Swifties received a favor bag complete with bright red lipstick, red heart sunglasses, a mini microphone to sing their hearts out into, and Taylor Swift stickers.

Charlie’s 6th Taylor Swift Birthday Party

It’s safe to say that Charlie loved her T-Swift party and has been talking about it ever since. It was so nice to have our friends over to celebrate her – even one of my best friends flew down to visit for the occasion! Charlie had the best time and felt so special. I can think of few more special ways to celebrate than in true pop-star fashion, with all things Taylor Swift.
