I absolutely LOVE planning a baby shower, but one of the biggest headaches of hosting a party can be the cleanup. There’s not much worse than being totally exhausted from socializing, planning, and implementing a party and THEN having to wash dishes/clean etc. Luckily, I kept this in mind when planning a simple baby shower for one of my best friends: Bethanie.

There were many reasons I needed to keep this shower simple.
First, this is my friend’s fourth baby. It’s not like she was starting from scratch and needed a big registry worth of stuff. She’s had other baby showers and I knew she wouldn’t miss any of the extras like games and fancy details. What I knew is that I wanted something that was her speed (low key and intimate) and something I could plan from out of state. Since we would be flying in for the weekend, I knew I didn’t have a lot of time for pre-planning and post-cleaning.
The obvious choice to me, was to set up a reservation at her favorite restaurant for her closest friends and family, which wound up being about 15 people. We decided to utilize the lawn area for the shower at Postino East in Gilbert, Arizona. I was assured that this was the perfect spot to host a few people and it was true! The best part of having a shower at a restaurant:
No food prep for the host.
Servers.
No clean up for the host.
Postino fed us several delicious cheese boards and bruschetta selections along with mimosas. We brought in our own cupcakes with the most adorable toppers from Magnolia Bloom Boutique.

When hosting a minimal restaurant shower, there are only a few things you need:
Cake/Dessert
Guest book (We used a story book that everyone could sign on the inside cover.)
Favors (We used succulents with a thank you tag on each one.)
Balloons/Decor (optional)
Moss Letter – Little Sparrow Co.

Overall, Bethanie was so happy with how it turned out and it was a super stress-free shower. No games, no pressure. Just yummy food, refreshing drinks, and a lot of love.
