DIY Family Photo Shoot

This holiday season is going to be especially tight, financially. We just had a baby, have tons of hospital bills rolling in, and we have made the decision for me to only go back to work a couple of days a month so that I can be home with the kids. Essentially, we are now a one income family! ALL the expenses that come with the holidays are going to be a bit of a challenge for us, but not one that we can’t creatively navigate. I am learning how and where to cut corners and I will look forward to sharing my successes along the way.

One holiday expense is always FAMILY PHOTOS. As a photographer, I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE having professional photos taken. Especially, for Christmas cards. The downside: it’s pricey for quality photography.

What’s a girl to do? Load up the tripod, camera remote and the family and take them out to a pretty outdoor location for the quintessential Fall photos in coordinating outfits. With a three month old and a hyper six year old, it’s a bit of a gamble. However, I think we got at least a few good ones! I just have to share my faves with you guys. I love my people…

Not too shabby for “selfies” eh? Can’t wait for my Christmas cards to get here! Vistaprint has some SUPER cute templates this year, and there’s currently a 60% off code on their website. I got 50 cards for $29! Check it out. I really love mailing cards. It’s a weird obsession. I cannot WAIT for them to arrive!
