Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up May 2nd – May 6th and I think this is quite possibly the most important time to show some love to your kids’ teachers.
If you’re like me, you love your children’s teacher(s) and want to show them, but struggle with the constant costs that arise from school related things. Not to mention the fact that we are expected to have teacher gifts for so many holidays and special events. I’m here to tell you there are some less expensive ways to show your appreciation for the saints that put up with your kids all day. They all start with a simple coffee mug.
You can grab a mug for $1 at the Dollar Tree. Next, fill it up! The possibilities are literally endless, but these are my favorites:
*Note: The sarcastic and possible inappropriate names I have given these mugs are totally optional.*
The “Only Sugar Can Fix This Day” Mug
I feel like this often and I only have two kids. Not twenty. Hopefully, your child’s teacher enjoys a good glucose coma. This mug is full of candy.
The “Token Trendy Desk Supplies” Mug
Nothing makes sending disciplinary notes home more fun than cute stationary and washi tape. AMIRIGHT?!
The “Cry In The Bath About Common Core” Mug
If I was a teacher, thank goodness I’m not- but anyway, I would come home and spend an hour in my bathtub. These things would distract me from the gray hairs and wrinkles that the 20 tiny monsters are giving me. I put a headband, face mask, aromatherapy shower tablets, lip balm, tea bag, travel size moisturizer, and massage tool in this mug.
The “You Don’t Suck-culent” Mug
Because WHO DOESN’T LOVE SUCCULENTS?! I love them. Why? Mostly because I can’t kill them. I also love how clean and simple they are. Plus, it’s scientifically proven that live plants make people happy. A succulent in a mug is the perfect size for a teacher’s desk.
None of the mug ideas I listed will cost more than $10. The best part about all of these, is that when they are done with the contents, they have an extra coffee mug. I love mugs and an never have too many! What ideas do you have for a gift-in-a-mug?
Tiny Prints compiled some other great DIY ideas for teacher gifts. Stay tuned, because I will be back Wednesday with an amazing promotion and discount code for Teacher Appreciation Week from Tiny Prints!

Delicious and Easy End-Of-Year Teacher Gifts - Twelve & Six
May 12, 2017 at 3:27 pm[…] It’s not uncommon to gift a teacher a cute mug with a funny quote or pretty design. Who doesn’t love a mug? I, for one, have quite the embarrassingly sized collection of mugs. They can be used for obvious things like coffee, tea or soup or even as a pen holder, a planter, or makeup brush holder! I have always loved to use mugs as gifts in a variety of ways. […]
