Trying to feel confident and comfortable in my own skin has been a bit of a battle since having Charlie. While the baby weight just fell off with Grayson, it’s been more challenging to tackle this time around. With every baby, my body transforms again…and again. From pregnancy, to breastfeeding to hormone imbalances, It’s almost like I have to shop for a new person every six months. I have a suspicion that many other women can relate. I literally have a wardrobe that covers at least 4 pants sizes. For anyone who doesn’t think that this kind of yo-yo is hard on a woman emotionally, you are wrong.
It’s partially society’s fault, but we attach our physical appearance to beauty and desirability. I’m lucky to have a husband that loves me exactly the way I am, no matter what that state is, but I still struggle. I truly believe that one of the keys to having our OWN confidence is to feel comfortable. As much as I love a good pencil skirt and pair of stilettos, I would feel uncomfortable in something like that right now. And listen, it’s not always what’s on the outside that we need to worry about. Let’s talk about underwear. (This is when my six year old son would bust out in laughter because I said underwear.)
Recently, I had an event to go to and the outfit required that I wear a rigid strapless bra and “shaping undergarments” (you know the ones). My outfit was super cute and I got a lot of compliments. However, it didn’t matter because I felt awkward the entire time. I wasn’t comfortable, therefore I wasn’t confident, and a lady who isn’t confident shows it all over her face and body language- TRUST ME.
Then, Hanes asked me to try a couple of their products. Ladies, this is a game changer. I am not exaggerating. I put on the Cozy ComfortFlex Fit® Seamless Pullover Bra and wondered where it has been my whole life. This bra is so incredibly comfortable. I usually require underwire, but not for this one. It is a pullover style made of a fabric that stretches to accommodate your unique shape. The band stays in place all day and the bra can easily be transitioned from day to evening. You can read more about it at Hanes.com. The craziest part is that it retails for less than $10!
I also tried the Cool Comfort® Cotton Hipster Panties. They are so soft and the waistband is plush for all day comfort. The leg bands don’t ride up and the panties are preshrunk for an immediate perfect fit. Oh, and you can snag a six pack for less than $15. Visit Hanes.com for more details. My lacy thong days have come and gone and these comfy hipsters are my new go-to.
In closing, just know that comfort is key to confidence and confidence is key to beauty. No matter your shape, size, color or age- if you are confident, you are radiant! I invite you to #BeComfydent with me!
