Hey friends! I took last week off… sort of by accident. It was also not an accident, because I am literally busy every second of the day with the kids and working and planning the move! I couldn’t wait to tell y’all about my weekend in Houston, though. It was so wonderful and I know you will recognize some of the faces I was with. Through the “blogosphere”, I have made some really close friends and gained the most kindred spirits a girl could ask for! The majority of my “best good friends” (in a Forrest Gump voice) are in Houston, Texas. Luckily, I have gotten to visit Houston twice in a year! It’s a cheap and quick flight from Atlanta, so I have taken advantage of it as a girls getaway twice now.
This time, Renee would be coming down from Canada for the weekend, so it was extra special. As much as we have talked every single day for a year, we had never met in person. (It was just like you imagined, slow-mo running into each other’s arms…) Anyway. Meg was our unofficial Houston tour guide and it was perfect! She showed us all of the sites and I got to see so much of Houston that I didn’t even know existed.
Hotel Sorella was gracious enough to host Renee and I for our entire sponsored stay. I stayed at Sorella last time I was in town, too. It’s the best. It’s in the perfect location in town: City Centre. It is smack dab in the middle of the best shops and restaurants. It’s easy to just walk out the front door and spend a day or evening walking around. Hotel Sorella is a stunningly modern and chic hotel. Every time I stay there, we eat at the onsite restaurant, Radio Milano, which always serves the most delicious authentic Italian cuisine. I seriously love this place.
Saturday night, we all stayed in one of their gorgeous penthouses. We had a grown up slumber party and it was the most fun. Three out of five of us are pregnant, so we enjoyed some juice while Renee and Meg had beer. Apparently we thought this was hilarious…
How amazing does our hair look?! That morning, Blow Dry Bar Houston treated us all to fabulous blow dry services. Everyone was so sweet there, and the space is just lovely.
Later on, we had Julia Gozman pop in and grab some of these photos of us having fun. Later in the evening, we got back in these PinkBlush robes, did masks and had girl talk and laughed our faces off. It was such a perfect day and night!
We also attended our friend Brittany’s blog anniversary party on Saturday night. The balconies attached to the penthouses make for stunning photos. Don’t you think?
We had so much fun, and I can’t wait to see all these girls again. We are already planning our next gathering for the Fall! Have I mentioned the best thing about blogging are the friendships? If not, I’m telling you now.
Do you have any besties that you have to hop a plane to see?

April 17, 2017 at 1:14 pm[…] Katie and Renee both flew down to Houston for Brittany’s blog party. Needless to say, it was such a blast and we all had a little bit too much fun (like totally going live on Facebook while face masking it up). […]
