Moms: have you ever fantasized about a night away from home in a hotel with room service? Um, hi. I have. In fact, when scanning my mom groups on Facebook last week, it seemed that it’s a very popular item on the Mother’s Day wish list. Sometimes, it would just be nice to have peace, quiet, a bubble bath, and food delivered straight to my bed- right?! If you’re in my area, look no further. I found a perfect spot for an Atlanta “staycation” for a mom’s night away. I adore my kids. I truly love them to death. However, being mom who stays at home with two under two AND operates a full time business… I am maxed out.
After enjoying Mother’s Day with my family, I drove from the suburbs into the city for a night off. I am so grateful to have been able to experience the magnificence of The Loews Hotel in Atlanta. The Loews is located in the heart of Midtown near Piedmont Park. The hotel was super easy to find and parking was a breeze in the attached garage. The Loews is a gorgeous property with modern design and welcoming vibes.
Check-in was at 4, and I had a massage scheduled for 5:30. This left me a little time to explore and get comfortable. I was given a Grand Luxury Suite, complete with a sitting area, dining space, desk, and coffee station. I was on the 20th floor with an incredible view of the city. The room was mostly windows, and I LOVED how bright it was.
The bedroom/bathroom were tucked away, separate from the main “living” area. In addition to the spacious walk-in shower, the bathroom had a huge tub that was perfect for relaxing. Not only that- but there was a TV, yes, a TV in the bathroom. (I may or may not have watched an episode of American Idol while soaking later that evening…)
At 5:30 I headed for the seventh floor to the Exhale Spa for my massage. While I waited, I relaxed in the dimly lit waiting area while listening to soft music. It was so serene! The massage itself was heavenly. I chose my aromatherapy and enjoyed an hour of bliss on a heated massage table. I tried so hard not to fall asleep so I could “enjoy” the whole thing! Ha! After it was over, I sat and rested for a few more minutes with my warm neck pillow before retreating back to my suite for dinner.
The Loews sent me champagne and chocolate covered strawberries as a gift, which was the best surprise. I took a relaxing post-massage bubble bath and then I ordered some yummy food via room service. I set the thermostat where I liked it, ate what I wanted, left HGTV on repeat, and fell asleep when I got tired.
The next morning I took another bubble bath, made a cup of coffee because- “When in Rome..” and leisurely made my way to checkout when I was ready. My 18-ish hours alone were so needed and rejuvenating. I highly recommend a quick staycation as a mom’s night away from the chaos- and if you’re near Atlanta- The Loews is the place to make it happen.
How would you indulge if you had one night to yourself?
Huge thanks to The Loews Atlanta for partnering with me to make this post happen.
