Atlanta Staycation: Couple’S WeekenD WITHOUT KIDS

Atlanta staycation a couple days after Christmas without our kids in tow? Yes, please.

The biggest question here, is WHY didn’t I think of this before? Christmas is so stressful and messy and we are all being pulled in a million directions and drowning in toys. What better time to get away as adults to just CHILL? When I started thinking of where we should go, exploring our own city seemed like a no brainer. We’ve fallen more in love with Atlanta over the years, and it seems like there is something new in the city to check out all the time. The other added bonus is that it’s very close to home. That means we are nearby in case of emergency AND we aren’t wasting a ton of time on traveling.

One of my favorite places to stay are Loews Hotels. I’ve visited the one in Midtown Atlanta and the one in Nashville over the last couple of years and both exceeded my expectations. I love the chill modern vibes of Loews properties and the way the staff makes you feel like you are the only guest there. I have had zero complaints.

The Atlanta Loews location in particular couldn’t be better positioned in the city. It’s walking distance from all of my favorite places in Atlanta to hang out, such as Ponce City Market, Piedmont Park, The High Museum, and The Beltline (to name a few). It’s also close to The Fox Theater and Mercedes Benz Stadium. We particularly enjoyed having a coffee just downstairs on the corner at Cafe Intermezzo and grabbing ice creams at Sugar Factory just a few more steps away. Midtown Atlanta is so fun with so much to do, there’s really no need to go far at all!

Onto the room.

We were so surprised that we were upgraded upon check-in to the VP Suite! I felt like an actual celebrity walking in. They also had rose petals on the bed and champagne and strawberries for us as such a sweet way to celebrate our weekend away.

Our suite was stunning with stylish furnishings, a huge flat-screen TV in the living area and the bedroom and free WiFi. It was like being in our own luxurious living room for a couple days. In the bathroom, there’s a spa-like walk-in shower with a separate soaking tub (which was HUGE) and an additional flat-screen TV. The bedroom had the most comfortable beds, so I found out the details and the 300-thread count Egyptian-cotton linens may have something to do with it. Since we were in a suite, the room also had a kitchenette (with Nespresso machine), microwave and mini fridge/bar. It was more than extra, which is fun sometimes, right?!

We couldn’t leave without the full “breakfast in bed” room service experience, and it was incredible. Sometimes I find the room service at hotels to be overpriced and/or lacking in quality- but this breakfast was HEAVENLY and affordable. Nothing like binging Forensic Files with your husband over grits. Ha!

I made sure to get a spa service at Exhale before we came home. I love massages, but I really wanted to do something different this time, so I enjoyed their signature facial with Tonya and it was bliss. I remember the spa being a highlight of the last time I was there, too!

Finally, we enjoyed an INCREDIBLE on-site dinner at Saltwood. I’m not sure if you ever think of hotel restaurants when considering where to go eat in Atlanta, but if you don’t- you SHOULD remember Saltwood. It’s a perfect mix of laid back and luxurious. They specialize in their charcuterie, but have an incredible variety on their menu. My personal favorite were the brussels sprouts and the side of roasted carrots. We will absolutely come back soon just to eat dinner.

The Loews Atlanta Hotel offers so many gems that would make anyone’s staycation perfect, whether you’re a couple, a mom needing a night out, or an entire family. Next time you are trying to decide where to vacation, don’t forget to consider your own city!

I received this hosted stay at a media rate in exchange for my honest review.
