I’m SO excited to announce that not only am I go

I’m SO excited to announce that not only am I going to my first in-person @momcongress Convention in D.C. this month, but that I’ll also be speaking!

Mom Congress™ is the policy organization for moms in the U.S. – a mother’s membership organization that is addressing the most pressing policy issues of motherhood including what we call the “motherload” (the stress that U.S. mothers carry, at higher rates than other developed countries).

Each year passionate mothers convene to connect with influential change agents, be inspired and learn how to drive change in legislative policy on Capitol Hill.

Here are the big three issues that what we are passionate about tackling and always advocating for:

1. Supporting Working Mothers

2. Decreasing Maternal Mortality (Birth-related Death) and Addressing Racial Disparities

3. Maternal Mental Health

I can’t wait to be there living my passion out loud in a couple weeks. I HIGHLY encourage every mom that can to become a member and join us in these fights.

@treehouse_grove really gets me, y’all. I’ve been invited to check out a lot of cool places and sometimes I decline- but I’m so glad I took them up on it for this trip!

As @treehousepete (remember Treehouse Masters?!) said to us, “Everyone around the world has a treehouse story”.

And it’s so true. I was personally obsessed with Swiss Family Robinson as a kid. Begged my Dad for a treehouse. I would climb the trees in my yard and take my books up to read. I always found solace there.

I can’t even list all the things that made this trip so special. The vibes in general were immaculate. There was a constant calming sound of the rushing stream in the background. Simple days and nights where all we had to really think about was how many s’mores we wanted to eat. An especially fun bonus was our fly fishing lessons with @j.dial_studio.

All the areas of Treehouse Grove were designed to feel secluded, but with plenty of communal areas for gathering.

Pete told us this aspect was paramount to him and it surprised me. Sure, he’s passionate about the architecture and design of a treehouse (he geeks out on the engineering and cool details)- but what impressed me most was his passion for how this community would *feel* to everyone who would visit.

He said “People will make memories here. They will have hard conversations and happy conversations in this place.” He truly lit up when picturing the human connection aspect of Treehouse Grove. It was refreshing to listen to the heart behind the entire concept.

I can’t say enough good things about Treehouse Grove and @nelsontreehouse and we can’t WAIT to go back. 🌲
